  5. Mequon-Thiensville Writers Group

    Do you love to write? Do you have a story in you dying to come out? The Mequon-Thiensville Writers Group is for you! Each month, we’ll read and discuss up to four short pieces of fiction (any genre) submitted by group members. This will be a supportive environment for sharing and critiquing each other's work. Submissions of fiction pieces up to 1,000 words can be emailed to writersgroup@flwlib.org. Submissions will be discussed by the group on a first come/first read basis.

  6. iCan!: Getting Started with Email

    Over the past few years, email has rapidly replaced postal mail as the preferred form of communication for many people. With an email address, you can get and stay connected to family and friends, sign up for social networks like Facebook, and subscribe to newsletters from your favorite organizations, including the library. But signing up for an email address can be daunting, and navigating that email even more so. In this class, we’ll help you register for an email address through Gmail, the Google email service. We’ll also teach you how to send, reply to, and organize emails in Gmail. Registration is required and limited to 10 participants. Please stop by the Reference Desk or call 262-242-2593 ext. 320 to register.

    Build up your construction skills at the library! The Frank L. Weyenberg Library is pleased to offer a new monthly LEGO Club for children in grades 3-5. Each month children will be given a different theme to work with. From cars to skyscrapers, children will use creativity in design, work to figure out what parts make up the whole, and how the parts relate to each other. Registration is limited and is available at the Reference desk or by calling 262-242-2593 ext. 320.

    Founded in 2007, the Paranormal Investigators of Milwaukee have investigated several locations, including the Milwaukee Public Museum and the Riverside Theater. Join the group as they discuss types of hauntings, the ways they investigate claims of paranormal activity, and how you can become an investigator. They will also showcase evidence from their investigations.
