The Weyenberg Library lost a true friend and supporter with the passing of Bernard R. Tolzman on August 7, 2007. A long-time business associate and loyal friend of Frank and Helen Weyenberg, Bernie was a member of the Weyenberg Public Library Foundation since its inception in 1982 and the author of The Frank L. Weyenberg Library.

The Weyenberg Library's Community Room was dedicated in honor of Bernie Tolzman on May 4, 2008 in honor of his many years of service and his countless contributions to the Library and its patrons. Mequon Mayor Christine Nurenberg and Thiensville Village President Karl Hertz declared May 4 as Bernie Tolzman Day in his memory.
