Philosophers in their Historical Contexts
New_Wide_White_P.jpgThomas Hobbes, the English Civil War and Modern Political Theory on Tuesday, August 1 at 6:00 PM.

The projects of philosophers do not occur in a historical and cultural vacuum, and understanding the situations they were living in illuminates their philosophical projects and works. This lecture will focus on examining the historical contexts in which Thomas Hobbes was writing in relation to his main ideas.

This session is free and no registration is required.
