You and your neighbors are great readers and expect quality programs and reading materials at the Frank L. Weyenberg Library. To continue to meet your expectations and provide the services you request, we are writing to ask for your support. Our 2015 goal is to raise $65,000 to enhance one program and initiate a new one; both are explained below.

Ensuring that beloved classics are available to our youngest readers. Classic favorites such as Amelia Bedelia, Curious George, and Arthur are part of the Weyenberg’s early reader and picture book collection. Through years of use, however, these books are now falling apart. To ensure that every young child has books to engage his or her interest and start each child on a path of life time reading, many of these books need to be replaced. Our goal to fund this effort is $15,000.

Preserving your treasured photographs and home movies. Do you have aging family photos or movies that are now deteriorating in a shoe box somewhere in your home? To preserve them and enable you to pass them on to the next generation, we will establish a media conversion lab. The lab will be equipped with hardware and software that will turn your aging photographs, 35mm negatives, transparency slides, Super-8 mm Film, and home videos into digital files. You will leave the Library with all your images on a USB flash drive. To convert an existing space to a media lab with needed hardware and software as well as provide you with training, we need to raise $50,000.

The Weyenberg Public Library Foundation has raised over $3.5 million since 1982 to support the Frank L. Weyenberg Library. Consider a gift to the Foundation to ensure young readers have the books they need and to create a digital lab to help you preserve cherished memories captured in your photos and films.  You can make your donation online here:

Contributions to the foundation are tax deductible and every penny you give will go toward funding the programs and enhancements. If you would prefer to mail in a check, you may complete a printable donation form and mail it to the Library.

Foundation History
The Weyenberg Public Library Foundation, Inc. was established in 1982 as a registered 501(c)(3) tax-deductible nonprofit charity for the purpose of supporting the Weyenberg Library, which serves the communities of Mequon and Thiensville.

The foundation successfully directed the public campaign for the addition to and renovation of the library and made a major contribution to the project. This addition was dedicated in September 1994.

In 2003, the foundation celebrated the 50th anniversary of Mequon and Thiensville library services by organizing an anniversary fund. Contributions to this fund were used to enhance the collections of the library by purchasing materials not affordable through tax support.
