Children's Events

Storytime on the Lawn

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 AM from June 8-August 11.
  • Storytimes include stories, finger plays, and songs. A responsible adult should be present. All ages are welcome! 
  • No registration is required, but please make sure storytime etiquette is followed. 
  • Storytime Etiquette & Rules:
    • Family/Caregiver groups should maintain social distancing of 6 feet from others and library staff.
    • Blankets or chairs will not be provided, so please bring your own.
    • If raining or inclement weather is predicted, storytime will be canceled.
    • Stamps will not be given out, but rather stickers will be provided for those that wish to have one.

Messy Monday

  • Join us on the library’s east lawn for a morning of sensory art exploration and creation! This process-oriented art program is intended as an open-ended exploration of the various art materials provided. We can't wait to see what you create!
  • Families/Social Pods (2 adults and up to 5 kids) can register for a table during one of the 15-minute time slots at the link.
  • July 19 from 9:30 AM-11:30 AM -REGISTRATION FULL

  • Join us virtually on Facebook for a fun storytime brought to you from different locations around Mequon and Thiensville. For a fun twist, guess in the Facebook comment section if you know where storytime is being held today . First correct guess receives a small prize!

Make It! Craft Kits

  • Brown bag crafts to-go! Kits include most items needed to create a simple, fun craft! This summer, new kits will be available on certain Fridays in the Library's front entrance.

Make It! STEAM Kits

  • Make It! STEAM Kits will be available select Saturdays for pick-up at the library! Each kit includes most items needed to complete a project or simple experiment at home! STEAM Kits are intended for early elementary aged children and their caregivers to work on together.
